Three of the current top issues facing Iowa
#1) Make Iowa a magnet for business and job growth
- Pass property tax reform without shifting the cost
- Reverse unnecessary fees and regulations
- Provide high quality education & training
- Strengthen our infrastructure
- Set high standards and encourage competition and innovation
- Enable all parents to choose the best setting for their children
- Restructure the Dept. of Ed to be more of an advisory / resource dept. and less of a bureaucracy that takes dollars and decision making away from families and schools
- Support our Community Colleges.
- Demand transparency from Regents.
- Continue conservative financial budgeting to protect us from a Federal debt crisis, knowing that half of our state budget is Federal money
- Respect the US and Iowa constitutions
- Restrict the size of government
- Design state laws to protect us from the ballooning Federal Bureaucracy
