Jane Jech Announces for the Iowa Senate

Jane Jech announced today, her bid for the Iowa Senate in District 36 for the 2012 election.

Jech said, “The biggest challenge facing our state is to create an environment which encourages current employers to stay in Iowa and grow their businesses, while at the same time attracting entrepreneurs to begin new businesses here. State regulations and fees are stifling growth and new job creation in these important businesses. In addition, the current economic uncertainty facing our nation reinforces the need for state government to be lean and effective rather than insisting on spending all the revenue it collects.”

Legislative seats changed this year due to redistricting, which is a result of the 2010 census. All of Marshall County, Tama County and a southern portion of Black Hawk County have been joined together to form District 36.

Over the past few years, Jane Jech has worked hard to hear the concerns of the people by knocking on thousands of doors, attending many local events, and already this year, has participated in seven parades.

“A campaign is about meeting people; listening to their concerns and learning from their unique perspective on an issue. I want to take the issues of the day from Senate District 36 to Des Moines, not bring Des Moines to Senate District 36,” commented Jech.

Jane and Kerry Jech have lived with their four children in Marshalltown for over thirty years. Jane is employed with the Marshalltown School District, served nine years on the Iowa Valley Community College District Board of Trustees, is on the board for the Noon Optimists and the House of Compassion, and a Resident Advocate for the Iowa Veterans Home.
